In South Florida, Tiger Beer is available at
Total Wine and select Publix markets.
tigerbeer.us In Asia, it's more common to order beer than wine with your dinner and to complement with your meals rather than cook with it. In hot weather, it's bubbly, refreshing and cooling, all about yin and yang.
Tiger Beer is an international beer. While Singapore is the home of Tiger Beer (where my mother was born) it is brewed in 8 countries and is available in 60 countries worldwide. I'm constantly surprised when women who don't normally drink beer tell me they find Tiger Beer quite delicious and refreshing. Beer is especially good if you like your food spicy. Tiger Beer, is my favorite, I like my beer really, really cold.
Tiger Beer has been sponsoring my cooking events and Hoh Wok Club gatherings in South Florida. These gatherings are get-togethers with former students (everyone is welcome) held at Asian eateries to explore Asian cuisine and culture.
Tiger Beer raffled off 30 of my Wok Star Kits in a kick-off tour to launch their product in eight Sweetbay Supermarkets in the Tampa area. I loved the tour because it gave me a chance to meet so many people interested in Asian cooking. I was surprised the most common question was,"What kind of wok should I get?"
I appeared on TV and radio... Fox & Friends, ABC, and Martha Stewart's "Afternoon Living" on Sirius Radio, to promote Tiger Beer's Chili Crab Festival in Brooklyn, New York. Five thousand people attended this wonderful Singapore street fair with live music, kickboxing, Asian cuisine, and of course, lots of chili crab and Tiger Beer.
There was a fabulous Singapore Club in Hong Kong my family belonged to, their speciality was satay and beer! And in England, where I had lived for about 17 years, the Brits like to go and eat spicy Indian food when the pubs closed. Tiger Beer has won an award there and the Brits know a thing or two about beer.

fijiwater.com
Fiji water is now available for home delivery.
Some people might not consider water a "cooking ingredient", but your water can have a significant effect othe flavor of your food. I use Fiji water for making my sauces. This way I'm guaranteed to get the purest flavors (absolutely no "coloration" or cholorine taste from the city's water pipes).
Many of today's bottled waters are merely re-filtered from municipal water systems. Fiji water comes from an ancient aquifer in the Fiji Islands. When I serve it at my Wok Star Classes or Hoh Wok Club gatherings, people always remark how pure it tastes and especially at room temperature. Most people prefer drinking their water ice cold but in Asia, we drink either hot water or at room temperature. To me, Fiji is the ultimate and they even deliver to your home! Check their website for more details, you'll even see a video by a humorous chef about how the water never touches man from the underground spring straight to the bottle.

With Asian sauces, there are many brands that have MSG or are a tad sweet, which makes your food gummy and "chop suey" (Chop Suey is not a Chinese dish, watch a sample video clip from Ho Wok Mei for the explanation). Koon Chun has a nice selection and I have been using this brand since my childhood in Hong Kong which is actually where it is manufactured.
The most common request is coming up with more sauces. That's the beauty of my no-recipe technique, once you start with my TSPC basic ingredients, you can make tons of variations. So, I've included hoisin and brown bean sauces in your Wok Star Kit because I use them on both my "Easy Style" DVD and Ho Wok Mei DVD.
Also, check my Wok Tips page for a delicious steamed ground turkey (Chinese meat loaf) which uses Koon Chun's Umeboshi (sour) plums, steaming is another way to use your wonderful cast iron wok.

Available at Publix and select gourmet stores.

These exotic Jamaican Asian seasonings and products will get your taste buds tingling and wanting more! My favorite is Spicy Jerk Seasoning, I sprinkle this to just about anything including salads, yummy.
TIP-- be careful when sprinkling this jerk spice into a stir fry. It's pretty pungent and it really hits you in the back of your throat. Hot dishes may even boost adrenaline to temporarily speed up metabolism and stimulate the breakdown of fats.
Aston Lue, a Chinese Jamaican is constantly coming out with more products. Also try his dynamite Scotch Bonnet chilli sauce, use little at a time. You can pick up Ocho Rios products at your local supermarket. If they don't stock it, ask the manager to get if for you.
FREE SAMPLES are included when you purchase my Wok Star Kit. I am continually adding seasonings and unique items to the Kit to enhance your appreciation of Asian cuisine. If there are condiments you've tried and think others might enjoy, I would love to hear about them.
I want you to experience authentic Asian flavors with your first attempt. Everyone loves these brands I recommend and which I have been using for over 18 years since arriving in the States. Many of you tell me how intimidating it is when you enter an Asian supermarket, so I have made it easy for you

Available at Wild Oats, Wholefoods, Fresh Market, gourmet stores and select Publix (ask manager to stock it).

San-J is the only tamari I use. Good ingredients are essential for a successful stir fry and San-J is the best. Tamari is equivalent to using salt and is the Japanese version of soy sauce.
I have tried many other brands but nothing beats the superior quality of San-J. Check their website for a wide selection, also you can find out how tamari is made. San-J is now available from local supermarkets but mostly in healthfood stores like Wholefoods and Wild Oats.
I love the Black Label best because of it's depth and texture and that is what you will get in your Wok Star Kit. It has a thicker consistency so when you marinade your meat, seafood or poultry, it clings instead of just sliding off which tends to happen when you use thinner soy sauce.
Some are concerned about the sodium content and my reasoning is that I do not eat snacks between meals (my mother taught me well and because I did not want to lose my appetite for her wonderful cooking). Savory snacks and a lot of packaged foods have tons of sodium and make you bloat. So, I just save my sodium intake for my mealtimes, no big deal.
I provide you with the 5 oz bottle which has the "dripper top", it's perfect for controlling the pouring. When you're ready to refill, I suggest you buy the large bottle but continue to use the 5 oz bottle as the daily dispenser in your caddy.
The ultimate solution for fast, fun, flavorful wok cooking.
"My unique kit with wok set, instructional discs, and seasonings are all you need to get started. I know you'll enjoy being a Wok Star for your family and friends".

People are constantly asking me about curries, so I am very excited to announce my new partner, CurrySimple. Michael Moran, the owner/founder and I share the same philosophy of making exotic food easy to make at home.
Just a note that curries differ from country to country. Malaysian curries that I grew up eating (my mother is from Singapore) are thickened mostly with potato. In India, they use cream and ghee. In Thailand, they like to use coconut milk because Thai food is all about balancing sweet, salty, sour and spicy. Pretty tricky balance, I find it hard to use Fish Sauce because it's so salty. CurrySimple is a perfect solution because they've done the work for you.
CurrySimple is an all-in-one pouch that includes Thai curry paste, fresh coconut milk and fish sauce. There's enough in one pouch for 3-4 dinners depending on the size of your dish. It's made and packaged in Thailand with fresh, natural ingredients, no MSG or preservatives. There are four levels of spiciness: red (medium spicy), green (spicy), yellow (mild) and massaman (more sweet).
There's no need for refrigeration and has a 1 year shelf life. It uses the same packaging developed for NASA to keep perishable food fresh on space shuttle flights or known as a MRE in the Army and meets USA FDA standards.
Check out CurrySimple's reward program, locations that stock his products and take a look at his other products like coconut soup, Pad Thai (everyone's favorite), Thai stir-fry, chilli lime, mango, sweet chilli as well as Thai iced tea.
Now, check out Wok Tips for my easy Curry salmon cooked in my cast iron wok! It was so delicious, we had the remainder cold with a salad the following day. What a great midweek solution when you have a craving for a spicy Thai curry! So go ahead and order a combo pack so you never run out.

Fresh Del Monte

Fresh Del Monte is sponsoring me to produce a video on how to make “Pineapple Stir Fried Rice” for their fruits.com website. Stir Fried Rice is the number one most requested dish I’m asked about. In Asia, it's very popular to include pineapple in fried rice to give it a slightly sweet, tart flavor. The dish is often served inside the pineapple shell for a festive and colorful presentation. As always, it's the yin and yang of balancing foods.
The thing I love about Del Monte’s Gold® Extra Sweet Pineapples is that they’re always picked ripe. They’re ready to eat and are available all year round.
I recommend not buying the ready-cut pineapple in stores because so much of the flesh is wasted. The machine that cores it removes so much edible fruit that you’re essentially left with “half a pineapple”. It comes down to how much you value the time and convenience, but there’s a quick, jiffy way to cut pineapple which I’ll demonstrate in a future video.
I’ll be announcing the release of the video in Wok Star News, stay tuned. Until then, here’s some tips on how to pick a good pineapple...
• Select fruit that is heavy and symmetrical for its size
• Look for crown leaves that are fresh and green
• Sniff the pineapple and pick one that has a sweet fragrant smell
• Ensure that the pineapple is free from soft spots

OWS is a wine and liquor importing company created in 2006. They are the exclusive US importer of Gancia which is a very long-established company specializing in sparkling wines (Prosecco, Moscato d’Asti, Vermouth, Asti, Spumante). Gancia was founded in 1850 by Carlo Gancia who created the very first Italian sparkling wine and paved the way to the birth of the Italian sparkling wine industry.
Gancia Prosecco will greet guests when they arrive at my Wok Star classes and paired with a delicious Rainbow Lettuce Wrap Appetizer that's always a bit hit.
